My peeps

Hi all,
I am so excited- Sarah & Tom are going to Brazil & Argentina & Patagonia! Has anyone else been there? Hope this finds you all well. And - this blog is for all of us to post family "stuff". One of my courses requires me to experiment with "blogging". Please write often and especially stories about our family.
Love,
Nancy

Hi Nancy,
What a great idea. Sarah and Tom's trip sounds amazing. Please ask them to take lots of pictures. I have always wanted to go to Patagonia. The closest I've gotten is a fleece jacket with a Patagonia label.

I hope you are having cooler weather up in Connecticut. We are still in the 90's down here in Tallahassee, but we get down into the high 60's in the early mornings, which is my favorite time of the day.

I am fascinated by all of the election coverage and love hearing other women's reaction to Sarah Palin. It will only get more interesting.

Hope you are having a good weekend,

Jane

It is also beautiful here- just awesome Fall foliage weather, with the harvest of tomatoes and peppers, squash, herbs and beans. But Sarah said - "Leave the pumpkins!" I truly hope we use this blog for our family - I need Aunt Alice's address to get her input, too, and all the "kids" as well.
Love,
n

Hi Nancy and Jane,
Great venue for Blatzing it up girls!! Never been to Patagonia only seen the fleece in catalogs but I'm sure one of my kids will wear Patagonia!! Cool Ct weather great for working in the yard, Nancy and I are meeting in Barkhamstead later for a hike and lunch.
I think he chose her for the hype and publicity. He is still a moron no matter who he has beside him, she is a little too rough around the edges for me. But it sure is interesting.
What I am not thrilled with is spending taxpayers' money to bail out Wall Street. To quote John Tracys's twin Michael Douglas from the movie Wall St. "Greed for lack of a better word, is good"! They should be made accountable for the greed and mistakes not hard working Americans!
Anyway, we have to be thankful for what we have and have Faith, like the dog:)
Love,
Anne

Gee Anne, you were kind of harsh on Geezer and Gidget! It's still warm here too but next week should drop to the 70's. My tomato crop has been awesome but the darn grasshoppers that were forced out of the hillside from the fire devoured my peppers! Ronnie moved into his townhome on Wednesday so now we officially have one graduated, working and living on his own! I'm throwing a big bash Sat night for Ron's 50th - you're all invited!! This blog is almost as good as the old Blatz newsletters Nancy! Love you!

Dear Sistahs - I feel like the Geezer, dragging and panting while being pulled into Blog-world. It took me 4 tries to get the Google account to recognize me so I could join the Blatz blog. I don't blog, er, I guess I DIDN'T blog, so I'm learning as I go.
Do you choose to e-mail follow-up comments to your e-mail address, or wait until you go to the blog to see what everyone else said?
Sarah & Tom's trip sounds wonderful! When do they go? I've never been to South America at all, and don't own the jacket! I hope they are safe - I have the impression there are places that don't like Americans. But travel is awesome and I envy them~!
We watch the election coverage as a divided household. Bill follows the Republicans, although they all piss him off at some time. I can't believe that America is going to "get over" its racism in time to vote for Obama, so I feel that's a lost cause. Especially in the South, people are quiet about it, but just as deeply racist as ever.
Bill's comment just now is that racism is alive and well in the North, too. Good point.
Our weather has started to turn cooler, with highs in the 80s. Time to swap out the work clothes and rearrange the closet. The rituals of the seasons...
We still have a drought here and the garden did not do well. But the animals are all doing well. Spirit the horse has been a fun addition to the crowd.
I need to get ready for work. Thanks, Nancy, for introducing me to this aspect of my 'puter. I'll try to contribute regularly!
Love, Jean
